As a result of Circuit Breaker measures due to Covid-19, a friend who recently graduated from polytechnic, told me that her new recruiter role, has been put on hold till end May.

Similarly, internship opportunities have also vanished. 🎢 Disney abruptly told students currently interning at its parks in Anaheim and Florida to move out and gave them just one week to do so.

However not every industry faces this issue.
🤖 Google announced they would move summer internship programs online rather than cancel them completely.

Industries deemed as Essential Services will have the advantage as they will be tagged as Recession Proof.

How about in Singapore? Let’s face it, any internship opportunities this year is as good as zero.

So, stop whining, bite the bullet and move on.

🏔 FIND THE RECESSION PROOF INDUSTRIES

The financial services sector is still poised to accept internships and definitely full time jobs.

Talents will continuously be headhunted here because they are regarded as the Future of Us.

But the evolving nature of the Covid-19 cases will mean that any interns must be prepared for sudden changes should the situation escalates.

No doubt.

The assessors will become more picky and the hiring process more stringent. So you’d better shape up, or ship out.

Time to start building your ark. The light drizzle has changed to a heavy downpour.
